Brief summary: Based on the 1973 French play of the same name by Jean Poiret, it focuses on a gay couple: Georges, the manager of a Saint-Tropez nightclub featuring drag entertainment, and Albin, his romantic partner and star attraction, and the farcical adventures that ensue when Georges’ s son, Jean-Michel, surprises everyone by announcing that he wants to marry a girl and brings home his fiancee’s ultra-conservative parents for a “family” introduction. Albin attempts to play the role of Uncle Albert, but it all fails and he ends up being the “mother” inspite of everything. Jacqueline – close friend of Georges and Albin, public figure and the flirtatious owner of the most popular restaurant on the Riviera “Chez Jacqueline” comes to the rescue! In the end, the characters learn to love and accept each other as they are, staying true to one of the main songs of the show – “We Are What We Are”.
